Hydrel: In-grade fixture installation

Flow-through fixtures should be installed atop a minimum of 6 inches of pea gravel, which is above bare earth, to allow for proper drainage.

Plumbers putty/potting compound recommended for extremely wet situations. Also silicon wire nuts.

Potting Compound – listed under “accessories” as PC21. (spec sheet lists how many cubic inches it fills – see J-box spec sheet for interior size) J-box size minus cord size = necessary amount. Generally one big bag per box if you’re using over half of the access holes – one small bag if using all the holes. Just need to cover all the components – don’t have to fill the box to capacity. Consistency of jello – it’s re-enterable, so they can remove and replace it with ease. However, it will last for decades if left alone.
