Hydrel: DMX

DMX requires the EASYL controller to function – the upper limit of fixtures that one controller can handle is 32, but we typically advise that it’s 31 so that the setup can have leads left to install a repeater or something of that nature.

When a DMX capable fixture flashes briefly and then goes out (this is after install) it means that the fixture is powered and waiting to receive input from the EASYL control. It will not do more than this without the control. If the customer has a control and it’s still doing this, it’s likely that the control is not wired to the fixtures properly, or that the fixtures are not set to the correct channels.
