GR2400 - How to program a panel in to Zone Mode?

A GR2400 or GR1400 (classic) can be configured to be in zone mode. A panel can not be programmed directly from Discrete to 16-Zone mode, it will have to be programmed in to 8-Zone mode first, and then to 16-Zone mode.

Keep in mind that changing a panel from Discrete to 8-Zone or 16-Zone mode will change the number of addresses that panel will take. For every 8 relays or zones, it will take 1 addresses. After changing the panel's mode (Discrete, 8 or 16 zones), "BUS MAP will need to be corrected to accommodate the new addresses being used. Potential duplicate addresses need to be checked for when - perhaps prior to - changing a panel from zone mode to discrete or vice versa, to eliminate any overlapping addresses.

Discrete to 8-Zone Mode:

1. Press and hold down the "Assign" button for about 2 seconds. The "Assign" LED and the LED indicating the mode will light up (see picture below for LED locations).

2. While the "Assign" button is held down, push the following following buttons in the exact order listed: 2-4-6-2-6, then let go of the button.

3. This will change the panel from Discrete to 8-Zone Mode.

8-Zone Mode to 16-Zone Mode:
