How to troubleshoot FCS AVI command interface

When integrating the FCS AVI into a third party system it may be necessary to validate the configured operation of the Fresco system such as channel setup, scene activation as it pertains to being controlled by the AVI.

Disconnect from the third party system and use a USB to RS232 adapter such that the PC can be used for troubleshooting purposes (or use third party system if it allows sending arbitrary commands and viewing the responses in real time).

Steps for building a USB to RS232 adapter can be found here:

Activate the scene for the current room and an arbitrary room. If the scene for arbitrary rooms does not function as expected, use the Fresco Touchscreen to activate the scene for each room.

status
